Day 4,276—One Year Ago—
I thought it was the 5th when I started writing this because I received a notification on my phone that showed me a picture from 1/5/2025, and it was taken when I was running down Lindbergh after the snowstorm. I included it here, so you wouldn’t have to go back to that run in my archives, but it is there, and what a crazy day that was, so much snow on the ground. That might have been the worst snowstorm in recent memory. I think we lost our power for a night that year.
This year, I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I am hoping the weather will be similar to today in two weeks. We will see. Today was perfect winter running weather. The sun was shining, but there was no wind. It was cold enough for a long shirt and pants, but one layer was enough. I had to wait to start this run because Sarah was sick, so I was watching the kids all morning, but I could have gotten up early to prevent this. I was up late last night. Not doing anything, but I think I was just enjoying the break from the kids. My youngest didn’t go to sleep until after 9. I took my daughter to work yesterday, which was fun, and she said the cutest things, but it was also exhausting as I tried to get some other things done.
I noticed someone running in shorts on the track. She was doing some type of high-stepping as she practiced. I wondered if I was doing more things like that, it would have helped prevent my current predicament of dealing with pain in my leg, but today it was better, and I decided a good place to run while I am recovering is the track. It is flat, so much easier on my quads, and no way I am tripping on the track. I don’t know if it is open on weekdays, but I will check. I also got an appointment with an acupuncturist for Thursday.
