Day 4,304—the Shippey Video is done and Purple Sunglasses—

Purple has never been my favorite color, but I was thinking about it as I was running today—how much I like wearing purple and black. My daughter thinks that red is my favorite color because I wear it so much, but I think there is a difference between your favorite color overall and your favorite color to wear. I am most likely only thinking about my favorite colors at all because my daughter talks about her favorite colors frequently.

I was hoping I would be able to find somewhere to run that wasn’t in the street because all of my usual routes were covered with snow right now. I was thinking I would try the track today and Grant’s Trail. I went by the track first, and I was excited at first because it had been plowed, but the gate was locked, so I couldn’t run there. I took the long way through Webster to go to Grant’s Trail, and parts of the route were safer than others, but Lockwood was so busy. When I made it to the trail, it was unfortunately covered in snow! I ran a section of it anyway, but it was pretty annoying. I was thinking after I got home that I wasn’t tired, but the idea of running more in the traffic today just doesn’t sound pleasant. Maybe I should try the cemetery. It is possible that the roads are clear there.

I will post a link to the video soon. Right after I edit one more thing.

It has been so hard to feel safe in this country this week, knowing that federal agents are murdering people without any type of recourse for accountability. I haven’t written about a lot because I don’t know what to say. The FBI took ballots that have been investigated dozens of times previously. ICE agents were told they could arrest anyone who touches them and that they don’t need a judge’s warrant to enter a residence. It is like the rule of law doesn’t matter anymore, and we’re witnessing the end of the principles that founded this nation. I don’t know how anyone can watch someone hold someone down and shoot them ten times in the back and not be outraged. What I keep thinking about is that the person who was killed could have been anyone. They’re not a dangerous criminal. They’re a normal taxpaying citizen who was not charged with any crime or peacefully arrested. He was murdered. Just like Renee Good.
