Day 4,299—Last Week of January! Still Cold—

My phone said it was negative 10 this morning, so I wasn’t taking any chances with my clothes. I wore just as heavy clothes as I did yesterday, even though I wasn’t going to be running nearly as long. If I had gotten up on time, I would have been able to run more, but I slept in until 5:30. I cannot remember waking up at 4, but I assume I did because my phone was on the side of my bed, like I had been looking at it at some point.

By the time I was outside, I was ready to face the day. The combination of my ski goggles and headlamp made my head both heavy and off-balance when I wanted to stop and take a picture. The sunrise was pretty, so I tried to get a picture by the train tracks with it, but it felt like it was missing something. When I got by the pond with the geese, it looked like at first the geese weren’t alive and just sitting on top of the ice, but when I got closer, I saw that they were moving. I wondered why they had decided to hang out there as opposed to somewhere else to shelter from the cold, but they seemed to still be moving, so I am glad I wasn’t looking at a dozen animals that froze to death. Even though today is an AMI day at work, I have so much to do that I don’t even know how I want to get started, and I also want to finish the running video. I am thinking of including some footage from the past two videos in this one just so you can see how the race has looked over the years. I still keep wondering what it would have been like had it been this past weekend. I would like to think I could have run in it, but I don’t know if I would have been able to drive there and back.

My phone says it is still going to be cold tomorrow morning, so I don’t know when it is going to be warm enough for the snow to clear. I don’t know if they will or not, but SLPS should at the very least have another AMI day tomorrow because I don’t know how most people will manage to get out of their subdivision tomorrow. Still so upset about the recent killing over the weekend. When is it  enough already?! How many people have to be murdered in cold blood by ICE agents until this stops? Conservatives want to bury their heads in the sand and lie but their rights will be taken next and by then it will be too late for them to do something about it. We need to work together on what it is an objectively evil practice: killing innocent people for no reason. It is insane that it has gone this far and still so many people are sitting on the sidelines and refusing to accept reality.
