Day 4,365—Deer Crossing—

I think I am getting closer to 100 percent, but it hasn’t been easy. My leg has been bothering me a little more, even though I am sticking to the regimen, so maybe I need to add more exercises to help it. I keep thinking I should go back to that acupuncturist, too, but I just haven’t had the time. I need to have my car safety inspected as well. There is always so much to do. I keep reminding myself that April is kind of a month to catch up on school stuff, and I don’t need to worry as much about running, but I find that as soon as you get your eye off the ball, it is so easy to get behind when it comes to staying in ultra-running shape. I'll have the marathon next week, so that will be something to focus on. I will see what I want to do this weekend, but I am thinking slow pace, but maybe I can get a decent amount of mileage in. Let me know if you have dealt with sciatica pain, and maybe some exercises and stretches I should be incorporating more.

I accidentally started ultrarun mode on my watch this morning. I was tempted to let it go and change the activity type later, but I knew it would bother me, so I started my run over after .35 miles. It is annoying to have both activities this morning, but they are calculated the same way, so I keep asking myself: what's the big deal? I am trying to put together a nice little 5-mile loop that incorporates some of the trails around where I live. Today was closer to getting things, but I didn’t exactly get the mileage I wanted, so I might try an alternative tomorrow. I have been listening to some books that I have been enjoying recently, but I turned them off for a while so I could just focus on listening to the birds. They always have a lot to say each morning, and it always sounds the same but different. I always think about what they’re saying is just an expression of who they are, and I think that’s what I am doing too when I am running. It made me want to run at Lone Elk Park by the river. I love the river. I was watching a documentary about Lewis and Clark the other day, and it showed so many shots of the river, and I was mesmerized. I want to live on the river in a boat and just float from place to place.

Happy Thursday, everyone! More people have been watching my Thunder Kiss video! It could end up being my best video to date, and possibly the one with the most views! Let me know what you think if you watch it.
