Day 4,369—4 Runs until the Greater St. Louis Marathon—

I still cannot get past the name change. I am not sure what it is supposed to mean, except it seems to suggest that it is greater compared to the other St. Louis Marathons, of which there are none, as far as I know. I think for at least a year, there was a Rock ‘n Roll St. Louis Marathon in the fall that I never did, but since I can remember, there has only been one in April, and the St. Charles marathon every fall. The St. Louis one has always been worth doing, and I look forward to it every year. I used to always take the Monday off afterward and spend the day after the race eating food and watching too much TV. It is crazy to think about now how sore I would typically be afterward.
This morning I was thinking about the race and how cold it was. How is it possible that it was in the 40s this morning?! The Marathon used to always be the first weekend of April, so pushing it back by one week makes a huge difference. It was cold this past weekend. I looked at the weather prediction for this Saturday, and it looks like it will be between 60 and 70, which usually means 50-80. I imagine I will be cold waiting at the start, but hot as I get close to the finish. I am excited; it will be fun. And this is the first time in at least 2 years that it is not super close to another race. Last year I had the Pot. 200 right before, and the year before that, it was the Ozark Foothills.
Today I decided to run a little on the trail and back through Shrewsberry Park. The only thing that threw me was seeing all the cars out at Shrewsberry Park. I am happy to see others awake and getting a good start to the day, but I don’t like my silence being interrupted. These individuals seemed respectful of the morning, which is more than I can say about the vehicles driving on Laclede. I just don’t understand why so many people need to use that road before 5 a.m. However, what is there to do? And right now, the big thing I know is that this school year will end, and with it, I will finally get a break from work and school.
