Day 4,366—Happy Friday! And the Water Fountain is on!—

I added just a little but to my run this morning to make it the five-miles I wanted it to be. I am not sure why I like a 5 mile run as a base. Part of me feels like it isn’t a lot but it still seems challenging every weekday to get that in. This week was a little more difficult and next week I don’t know what my plan will be with the marathon on Saturday. Maybe I will just only do a few miles on the Friday before. I started being a little more strategic when thinking about races. I am trying to plan out for what I want to do next year now. I don’t think I realized how long some of the drives are going to be. It is good I live in the Midwest because I am in the middle of everything but still that means I got many states over 20 hours away by car which isn’t that much but to pull that off during the school year that makes it hard for me to not to almost have to take 4 days off work unless I plan it by a holiday.

Today I felt tired getting up and slow starting my run. I usually am motivated by listening to a book but I couldn’t pay attention to anything which was good when I was outside because I was able to not be tempted at all to turn anything on during my run. I have thinking about what I want to carry duing the marathon and the more I think about it. I don’t want to listen to anything during the race but I might after when I am walking back to my car. I need to pull up the map of the start, so I know where I am going to park. I would love to not have to wear anything around my race when I am running because no matter what I have tried they never seem to be tight enough for them not to bother me.

When I got to the park I saw a deer on the trail. There is so many of them. I wasn’t trying to scare her but I was going in the same direction and she just looked at me for a long time as I approached before she ran off in the other direction. I wondered where her heard went. I remember that group of them yesterday that I was worried about crossing the street. I wonder if most made it over but some stayed scared and stayed on the other side of Laclede. When I was in the park, I decided to see if the water fountain was on and to my surprise it was! So glad the days of not being able to use waterfountains are over! I got to just put those dates on my calendar but it will be so much easier on my runs over the weekend unless I end up going on a trail which I still want to do but I need to buy a new hydration vest first. Pushups have been going well so far this month. Just 250 a day, no more and no less.
