Day 3,739 —5 with my 10 pound vest—

I thought a lot about how my body was adjusting to wearing the weighted vest and wondered if it would end up making a difference. I decided to go longer with the vest today because in my mind it seemed like a more efficient way to run. I still wanted to do some without the vest, but I decided in the future if I was only going to do between 1 and 3 miles, I would likely do it exclusively with the vest.
Adding the additional weight 100 percent of the time to my shorter runs will make a difference. Now, I don’t know if I am going to make myself wear the vest after I do an ultra run, but we will see what I feel like doing. I put my iPhone in the vest as I was running and wondered how crazy I might look going around with this ridiculous-looking vest. I ran over to Webster on the other side of Big Bend.
A lot of cars and people were out walking around. I saw a couple walking with their child while the mother was pushing the stroller, and I wondered why it was so rare for my whole family to be outside together. And whenever I am out pushing my son, he wants to get out and run. And if I am with my daughter, she is already running, so I end up holding him and chasing my daughter around. It is a lot of fun and a good workout for everyone involved. My son might not run as much as my daughter and me, but he makes up for it with his full-body laughter that erupts from him in strong powerful bursts.
