Day 3,754 —SLPS has Talent—

Anxiety about yesterday made me stay up late last night and got me up early yesterday morning. The positive was that I could get a decent run in and could take my time writing. This morning, I was up a half hour later and got sidetracked paying the bills, which led to a mini-crisis that was quickly resolved, but it looked like I was mischarged for something.  

       I was happy with all the new teachers who came to New Teacher Orientation yesterday. There were so many unexpected things that happened, and I wasn’t sure how anyone would be feeling with all the stuff about the district in the news, but almost everyone was in high spirits. Out of the 60ish teachers I interacted with yesterday, only two were negative, so that’s an amazing group. And many were overwhelmingly positive. I still don’t know what is going to happen this year, but I know we have plenty of good teachers in the district. The talent of the educators has never been the issue at SLPS.
