Day 4,148—So Many People Awake—
Cars are out even on Watson today at 4:30. Where is everyone going? Why weren’t they here yesterday?
The water was freely flowing out of a random spot of grass in a parking lot. Who do you call about something like that? It bothers me every time I see it. Why won’t anyone fix this sprinkler system? It is such a waste.
Today's run was my third attempt to hit exactly 5 miles, but I was even farther off the mark than yesterday. The two changes I made were going straight instead of through the parking lot, and running down Laclede instead of my usual shortcut.
My secondary goal is to run as little as I can in high-traffic areas. This matters a little less at 5 in the morning, but Laclede is almost always busy. Yet, there is a segment up Laclede that I like to run to challenge myself, so it is this constant debate in my mind on which way to go so that I will still get a good amount of hills as well as avoid traffic and complete exactly 5 miles. The most obvious way I could make a change would also prevent me from completing the segment. So much to think about!
