Day 2,984 —First Day of Summer: Everyone Feels Guilty for Eating Meat— with a PICTURE from a RACE #757

I am in the mood to clean today, so I emptied out most of my shed. I got my bike out and put some oil on the chains and pumped up the tires. I should ride it more.

My watch says I have officially achieved heat accumulation, but I found it to be still pretty miserable. I bought a new pair of sandals to run in, but I need to spend some more time getting them to fit right. I felt my ankle experience a little pain when I stepped wrong.

I spent a lot of time stretching yesterday. Whenever I do that I always end up noticing more pain during my next run. The pain out of mind thing causes a lot of injuries. It might make you feel tough to be able to ignore pain, but I believe if you continue to ignore pain over time you will make it more likely for you to get injured.

I should qualify that I don’t mean all pain, but pain I refer to as “breaking pain.” I told my dad if I tried to quit the Lighthouse 100 to ask me what kind of pain I was dealing with. Any breaking pain cannot be ignored, but most pain isn’t going to break you it is just there to warn you.
