Day 3,333 —Through the Park—
There were more cars and people out than I am used to, which is one of the negatives of running at 8 in the morning. I was running on local roads, but there were still so many cars clogging the street, making it difficult to cross no matter where I was. I decided to embrace car noise and run on Laclede.
The cars and trucks are so loud on Laclede I was shocked to see two men trying to have a conversation on the sidewalk. They were acting as if the roar of the semi-trucks close by didn’t exist. The house they were standing in front of had a tiny bridge, and it was painted the red that is used when illustrating barns: the whole scene striking me as so out of place.
I saw a bird walking around with a worm in its mouth. I silently moved towards the bird, so I could take its picture, but it was always walking away from me. I wondered why the bird didn’t fly off and eat its worm in a tree. If I could fly, I would always eat somewhere spectacular, most likely on top of a building or sitting on a bridge.
