Day 3,338 —Can’t Get Enough—

I could feel my breathing start to slow as I went all out on a straightaway. Viewing each aspect of the route like a video game, trying to maximize the points as I lean forward and let my weight take me downhill. Originally thinking I would spend time on some paths, instead, I ran through Webster Groves and observed people outgoing about their day. People are out getting ready for something going on at the University, and the usual group sitting at the coffee spots and little shops.

I thought I saw someone I recognized, and I tried to wave with my eyes. I did a lot of eye-waving this morning. I wanted to wave and say hi to everyone I saw, but my timing was all wrong this morning, often waving or saying “hi” after I had already passed. Even though I could be in better running shape right now, I feel healthy and strong, which is more valuable, so I will remain optimistic as I start to train for the Shawnee Hill 100.
