Day 3,345 —Saturday —
In old Webster, I saw a van unloading a hundred golden chairs. I dodged the workers and pivoted to running on the street. A dozen bike riders were blocking the sidewalk, relaxing after their morning ride. I ran on the street, looking for cars as I pushed forward.
There were so many other runners out this morning. I waved to everyone I saw. I couldn’t manage a cheerful “Hi!” or “Good morning!” but I still waved and made eye contact as I passed. It always surprises me how many people are outside but not really there. This one lady I thought was waving at me, but I guess she was having a conversation on a headset and gesturing as she talked.
I thought it was already getting close to the end of June, but that was only a dream, and I still have a month before I have to really think about going back to work. I am looking forward to that period of a couple of weeks when I won’t have work or school, but what will I look forward to then?
