Day 3,347 —Happy Juneteenth! —
At the end of my run, I saw this abandoned car. I wondered how long that car had been there, as I noticed someone had hit the window hard. I looked in the front seat and saw a card and some flowers. I did not open it up, but I will be curious tomorrow to see if it is still there or if someone is using this abandoned car to exchange flowers and cards. Part of me wonders if something illegal is going on. I don’t know, but it's odd.
I decided to do hills today, thinking I should probably keep my mileage low this week leading up to the Dark 2 Dawn on Saturday. I am looking forward to it as much as I am aware it will be challenging, and it might be another example of the Berryman where I am not as in good shape as I hoped, but that’s one of the reasons why I keep signing up for races so that it forces me to get some long runs in so that I can keep competing, but it isn’t easy, but I am getting a little smarter after each of these, learning something from what happened even if it wasn’t my best performance.
