Day 3,893 —It is not my Fault—

I could feel at least two of our three cats lying on me. They were down at my feet, and my 4:30 alarm went off, and Perseus, my alarm cat, was nowhere to be seen!! Of course, in another moment, he was there staring at me, ready to poke at me with his claw as I attempted to sleep for an additional 15 minutes. That 15 minutes turned into me showering after my run so that my daughter woke up and came downstairs.

She knocked on the door, and I thought it was my son. She said she had a difficult night's sleep and didn’t want to go to school today. My son ran up to me and said, “Hug?” as he held onto my legs. He was still sleepy, but he had such a big smile.

I barely remember running at this point. I remember I felt light and was listening to this book about a professor of psychiatry who has struggled with schizophrenia her whole life: the Center Cannot Hold
