Day 3,896 —So Cold—
I didn’t see as many people out this morning running, which is fine because it was so cold, and I didn’t want to go out and run this morning. I had my hand warmers and everything because my phone said it was supposed to be 13 degrees. At first, I was pretty warm and felt like I overdressed, but when the wind picked up, I was a little happier with my decision.
This whole experience did make me think about the 100-mile Shippey coming up. I haven’t thought about it that much, but I should plan one big trail run before then. I should probably pull up the date. At this point, I think it is less than a month away!
I
should be more excited, and maybe I will get more excited about the race when
it gets closer. Perhaps I still feel bad for not finishing last year, but I
have completed it once, and still have the second-fastest completion time
recorded, so I think that is pretty good. I don’t want to challenge myself to
beat that time, but I do need to think of some specific goals for the race and
decide how I plan to fuel this year. I think I am over using a hydration
bladder. I want to go slower to start if it is snowing. I want to make sure I
am not pushing it too hard and change what I am wearing to make sure I am not
getting too hot.
