Day 3,973 —the Ground is Frozen—

I felt like Thursday yesterday, so what is today? Not Friday, but something else. I ran to the track, but the last time I was there it was locked, and the door was closed, I thought I saw a lock on the door, but I tried to push the door open anyway, and to my surprise it was open. I didn’t have a lot of time to run on it, but I thought why not get a lap in or two? I am, and I am not looking forward to this 24-hour race I am doing next week. It is a .9x loop, which will be my shortest loop for the longest time ever, and I am driving 2 hours to run there! It will be good for training, and it is always good to do something different, but at the same time, I am getting tired just thinking about it.

I started watching videos about preparing for a 200-mile race yesterday, and one of the first things the guy said was not to run 100 miles before 200. I understand his point, but I know I will feel better after doing it. I have been thinking about how I plan to break up the miles in my head because it is a 76-hour time limit, but 4 days. I am thinking of something like 40, 65, 65, and 30 or something like that. Right now, I think it would be good to plan on sleeping for at least 4 hours each night, and to try not to overdo it in the first 24 hours, maybe that will be a good system. It would be nice to practice setting up the tent on my own for this race next week, but it isn’t necessary; however, leaving the first time being the day of the 200-mile race to set up the tent isn’t smart.
