Day 3,997 —Recovering—
I took a picture of a goose that was hanging out by the pond. I don’t know if she was injured or why she didn’t fly away when I got clothes. She looked like she was cleaning her wings. I kept thinking she would fly away, but she didn’t. She just waited there.
I need to focus on taking pictures and videos during the 200-mile run. I keep thinking I need to do something to count each lap after I make it back to the start.
It was a gamble to have the surgery so close to the 200-mile run, but today, I am glad I did. My stomach hasn’t healed yet, but it is already a lot less irritable than it was yesterday. When I was running yesterday, the bandage caused me the most pain. Today, I could feel the irritability around my stomach but not a lot of pain.
I haven’t been dressing the wound with anything, but I have made sure to wash it carefully, and I will take a bath tonight.
I went through all my clothes to count what I had of shorts, shirts, and socks. I have enough of most of the categories, but not a lot of shirts, or shorts that I really like. I put them in piles of how comfortable they were and threw away a couple of things that didn’t fit, or I didn’t like anymore. Some of my favorite shirts have this material that was irritating my stomach in the past. I hope that I can start wearing them as soon as my stomach heals.
