Day 3,975 —Halfway There—
I was surprisingly sore today. Not everywhere, but my left shoulder is killing me. I said I was going to go to the trail, and I was up early enough to get there at 6 a.m., but I waited an hour. I noticed no one else was there yet, and I started on a walk/run. The goal was to get at least 3 hours on my feet, and I hadn't run on a trail in a month, so why not?
It got progressively nicer as the run continued. I stopped my watch when I was taking a picture and missed about a mile of the run, but that’s okay. Not really that much in the grand scheme of things. On the other side, there were a lot more people out running, and a guy mentioned as he passed that it was a nice day. When I agreed, he commented on if this means spring is here to say.
It does feel and look like spring, that’s for sure. I ran around the prairie to add a mile since my watch mistake. I got to stop stopping my watch, but on this one, I was taking my time taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. The birds were so loud. The geese on the river were honking so much that I wondered if they were warning someone else of danger. I will try to do the same run tomorrow, but maybe this time I will do a little more. I cannot do that much more considering I am doing that 24-hour race starting Friday night, but I want to get as many trail miles in as possible up until the 200-mile run on April 10th.
