Day 2,614 —Bloomsday 2021 — with a PICTURE of ONGOING CONSTRUCTION

“Every life is in many days, day after day. We walk through ourselves, meeting robbers, ghosts, giants, old men, young men, wives, widows, brothers-in-love, but always meeting ourselves.”

― James Joyce, Ulysses

Last year today, I was in such a great mood. I remember the day vividly. I took a picture of my James Joyce finger puppet by a tiny library house. It is not that I am a bad mood now. And in reality, I have a lot more things to be thankful for this year as opposed to last year; however, I feel restless thinking about all the things I don’t know for certain.

I ran to the cemetery today and enjoyed the peace I found there. Sometimes I like just going somewhere, anywhere, where it is unlikely that I will find people there.

I picked this quote because it is something that I think about when I reflect on what I used to think of people when I was younger. So much of how I perceived others had almost nothing to do with them and everything to do with me. It is not easy accepting what you cannot know. I grow weary considering all the variables that make up who people really are.
