Day 3,820 —Countdown to the Farmdale 100: 7 Days—

It feels like it has been forever since the Shawnee Hill, and it feels like it was yesterday. I am definitely in the mood to run another 100-mile race, but at the same time I am saying that now, I haven’t done any long runs at all in September, but I still put in about 220 miles, so I think I did a lot to maintain going into this 10-mile loop course trail 100. It seems like just what I need, no stress about navigation. I don’t have to worry about the aid stations. I might not even need to wear a vest during a lot of it. And, I don’t know how much I care about time. I want to get another buckle and compete in a different race. I was thinking about it this morning, and I have 7 100-mile buckles right now. I did 3 in 2021, 2 in 2022, and 1 in 2023 (In both 23, and 22 I competed a 100-mile run unofficially). Now, I already have 2 done for this year, and only 3 on my calendar, but maybe I need to do another 100-mile birthday run like I did last year.

I am really thinking a 200-mile run in April next year. I am suddenly at the point where a 100 doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, but part of me is like no, a 100 mile is extremely difficult to complete, which I am about to find out again shortly. But It is nice to have 7 buckles and one more on the way. I was just thinking the other day that 10 100-mile buckles, would be something, and I am almost there.
