Day 3,830 —Today and more updates about the Farmdale Trail Race Part 1—

This morning it was so cold I had to wear a hat. It felt like fall and I felt great! I don’t know if I am completely 100 percent yet, but not staying there and finishing certainly has some health benefits for me today. Yesterday, I almost beat my best time running up Laclede, and I was thinking about it as I got to the top, how much I prefer the ups and downs of success and failure. I was so happy for Dave, who won the race. It was his first 100-mile race. He is going to remember this race and how he beat me and everyone else forever, and I am so happy for him.

I was up at my normal time trying to figure out how I was going to post stuff about my race this weekend. I have a lot of the writing complete, but I am not convinced posting stuff in sections is the best method; it looks like I will write three parts to this race. I have two of the parts mostly complete, but I want to write my kind of reflections and learnings while it is still fresh in my mind, and I don’t feel comfortable posting this thing in segments until I get one main draft done. I guess usually I am okay with posting it in segments? Or is it that I don't feel like I have a choice? There are three different moments that I am still trying to recreate. I feel like the tone is going to be a litter different in this write-up.

My plan will be to post the write-up in parts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. And on Friday, I'll post the video.
