Day 4,562—It Goes On, On, and On: 7 Runs until the Rim to River 100—
I fell asleep putting my son to bed last night. I barely made it to the sink to brush my teeth. I checked my phone this morning, and it says it is the anniversary of me being robbed while walking to school from my car 8 years ago. I knew it was coming up, but I forgot that it was today, and there does seem to be something about this week that brings a lot of tragedy. I know there is stuff that happened in the district that will be in the news this week. Also, a student at McCluer North High School was killed this week. When I was robbed 8 years ago, my neighbor died that same morning. Normally, I'd say I'm perpetuating confirmation bias by looking for patterns, but I wasn’t even thinking about it this week until today, so I don’t know. I don’t think it is always healthy to remember tragedy. Still, I think it is good to remind myself that whenever something is bad, things were usually worse at some previous point in my life, and somehow things went on and on and on . . .
7 days until the Rim to River! A week from today, I will already be on the road heading to West Virginia! And I plan to work on the Run Rabbit Run Video this weekend! Sorry for the delay! It will come out!
