Day 4,563—6 Runs until the Rim to River!—

It is insane how little I am doing to prepare for this race right now. I did a good job in the training, but I am not stretching, and I have also been unmotivated to start the logistical part by packing and getting my stuff ready. I know I need to start with the drop bags, but I haven’t read the race guide yet. I know I need to get it together and start preparing. Still, I kept telling myself one more day, and this week was so stressful with all the other stuff going on that I will start focusing on it Monday at the latest; realistically, tomorrow I should do something more proactive.

Last weekend I figured this weekend I would do something like ten. I thought I had gone too far away, but when I took the most direct route back, I ended up doing almost exactly ten. I saw a lot of people at Brentwood Park, and it was cold, which made me think about how warm I should plan on packing for this race, but I was also thinking about how pretty the leaves looked today. Everywhere I looked, there seemed to be a shot of the leaves scattered all over the ground and on top of the sidewalk. I thought about the Fall Creek 100 and the Ozark 100, races where I remember having leaves everywhere. Even though Fall is tough. I still love Fall. I am going to miss all the Halloween decorations. This year hasn’t been the best for decorations, but there's been a lot of interesting and cool stuff to look at while I am running. I am going to miss that, since there's almost nothing like it in other seasons, only Halloween and Christmas.
