Day 2,629 —Everything Looks Better in the Rain— with a PICTURE of VIOLET LIGHTS and CLOUDS
This is the best kind of rain refreshing, not too windy, so you can experience running into it, not getting hit by it. There was a flash flood warning yesterday, and we lost power for a moment. My daughter and I were at the park yesterday when suddenly a roar of thunder reverberated through the air. She looked up at me as if asking, “what was that?”
I smiled to assure her that everything was okay. I love the thunder. There is something about running through a storm that makes any day seem extraordinary. I was enjoying running by the traffic off Laclede, but I enjoyed the sparse apartment complex, the daycare, and the path by the Archdioceses more. I was disappointed someone had repaired a fence that made it harder for me to cut through to the old Rothman parking lot that is still undergoing construction. I am glad I made the extra effort. The whole area was flooded and plenty of different types of rock and debris were piled high next to the bulldozer and the forklift.
The pictures I took from there today, look so otherworldly like they happened a long time ago in an undisclosed location.
