Day 2,641 —Don’t Let the Truth Get in the Way of Being Honest—with a PICTURE of a TOWER in a SEMINARY

I was hoping to see another gorgeous sunrise but not today. Today I got a lot of clouds, humidity, and cool weather. It felt like it had just rain and that it was about to rain at the same time. I was thinking it would be fun to sprint down Gravois, so I went up that way and looped back around on Watson. I thought about the time I ran a red light on that stoplight by the car wash and the cop let me off with a warning.

“I am giving you a warning because you are honest. You wouldn’t believe all the people I pull over that lie.”

I acted surprised by this news. This was one of two times that a cop let me off with a warning for a traffic violation. The officer had asked me why I thought he had pulled me over. I told him because, “You thought I ran a stoplight?” It made me wonder what I would have said had he asked me, “Did you run that stoplight?”

Technically the light was yellow when I crossed the line, so I had not ran the light, but I don’t let the truth get in the way of being honest.
