Day 2,643 —Goodbye Trees and Deer. Hello New Subdivision— with a PICTURE of GEESE
I had heard that a new subdivision was going in behind the Tower Tee, but I didn’t realize how dramatic the shift would be until I saw the acres of forest that had been cleared by the cemetery. I feel so fortunate to live so close to so much wildlife, but it is sad to see a little of it go.
I ran through the area of woods by the chemical plant, and they were clearing parts of those woods away too. Where will all the wildlife go that was living there?
Yesterday, I took my wife and daughter to Powder Valley, and we saw three fawns and a whole family of skunks. The baby skunks kept playing and were oblivious to us. The mom skunk kept going ahead of them, but they were in no rush to follow.
There is something special about being alone in nature. I hope I get to keep experiencing that as long as possible.
