Day 2,657 — a Hundred Trees used to Live Here— with a picture of YELLOW FLOWERS
2,948 cases of coronavirus yesterday in Missouri. We haven’t had close to that many new cases since January 10 (2,744 cases). I was optimistically hoping that this whole thing was going to end once the vaccine came out. I had no idea that a huge percent of the population would refuse to be vaccinated because . . . they are afraid of mind control by Bill Gates, or is it because they were encouraged to?
In Missouri only 41% of our total population is estimated to have been vaccinated, which is close to the percentage that voted for Biden (41.4%) in Missouri.
I need to get off this topic, but it is hard to when it looks like we are heading towards a major reckoning as a society, and it feels like all I can do is watch. The more people are told that what they are doing is wrong the more invested they get in their belief system. I hate to think that I might influence people to not get vaccinated just by writing about how I feel about the situation; however, some will read what I say and think, “this proves that I am right about vaccines!”
How do you speak with truth and love and not alienate others? I have a hard time even fully understanding all the anger and hatred towards those trying to provide medical care. Is this all because they still are holding on to the idea that coronavirus is “just like the flu” and “will go away on its own.”
I am going to try to do better. I know there is a way to get through to people somehow. I just don’t know what it is.
