I had a meeting with a teacher at one of my schools in the city. It was a tough conversation because her most recent observation didn’t go as well as she wanted but she was motivated, so I was confident she would be okay. I remember having a brief conversation with a different teacher who works there before leaving. The next period had yet to start. I thought about talking to someone else, but I didn’t have a meeting or anything, so I left. 15 minutes later, when I got back to my office, the school I had just been at was on the news.
