Day 4,094—Fine Art!—

I slept in until 7 a.m., part of me wishes I had been forced to get up early, so I would have gotten my run in when it was a little cooler, but I went to the Home Depot first thing to build a birdhouse with my family. I was thinking this would be the first time I left in the morning to do something other than running first thing.

The birdhouse thing wasn’t happening, but we got the kit and went to the store and bought a few things for Vivian’s birthday party next week. She is so excited about her party. I just hope enough people come so she has fun. She invited some kids from school, but we haven’t heard anything from them yet.

I took pictures of the carnival by the seminary. It looks fun, and every year I think I should take my daughter, but I haven’t gone yet. I was running in my sandals, so my feet started hurting after mile 10. I stopped to get Powerade from the gas station, and I saw a woman dressed in an all-black dress looking like she was going somewhere nice, but the guy she was with was wearing a tee-shirt and khakis, so who knows, but it felt too hot to dress in black and wear anything uncomfortable.

The guy at the gas station asked me if I had been running, and when I told him, he said I might as well go to Chicago while I am out. A guy honked at me on Big Bend, and I waved, I didn’t know who it was, but I figured I must know him, or they’re just honking to say hi. I went back towards my house, and I was happy it was getting closer to the 2-hour mark so I could go home. I have been so tired recently, and even though my class is over now, I keep thinking about a few things I need to do for school/work this year, and I am starting to realize that my new job will actually be starting soon, and I don’t know if I am ready to think about it, but I know when I start working I will be okay, but the thinking about it, the leading up to it, is the hard part. It is you know, “Fine Art.”
