Day 4,100—Running with my 15 Pound Vest II—
I didn’t want to do anything upon waking up. I had vivid dreams that involved a democratic convention at the Magic House. I focused this morning on cleaning up outside and going on a walk with my kids. When I finally ran, I went out with my vest and decided I wanted to do at least six miles.
I listened to the whole Kneecap album “Fine Art” while I was running, and I think it is my favorite album I have heard this year. When I played it in the car, I realized how fast paced it was, which makes it excellent running music.
I felt like I was getting immune to the heat until I hit 4 miles and was desperate to be back home so I could pound some carbonated water, but I kept going for the 6 miles I felt due to how little I have done this week so far. This weekend it might be hard to get a lot of miles in, but I am going to do my best.
I've got the 6-hour race a week from tomorrow! So that will be my pre-race before the 100-mile race on August 2nd. I wonder how many miles I'll be able to complete in 6 hours this year. Anything over 50k I will be okay with, but it would be nice to get closer to 40 miles.
