Day 4,105—Happy Birthday Vivian!—

My daughter is six today, and she wanted to go to the trampoline park that’s down the street. We went straight there after I got home from running. I finally woke up at a decent hour this morning, but I was up until after 1 last night. I am still wearing my 15-pound vest. It fits well, and I am not worried about it chafing my back. Both my heavier vest and my backpack seem to cause a little skin irritation when I run with them. The backpack wasn’t as bad yesterday.

I don’t like milkshakes anymore, even when they’re vegan. Vivian wanted to go to Station 3 today for her birthday so she could have a milkshake and cheese sticks. This place has a greasy version of bar food. I am glad they exist, but every time we eat them, it feels so heavy. Vivian only had half her shake before she said she was full, and they’re small milkshakes. I am looking forward to the 6-hour race on Saturday. I thought competing in another 100 mile race the first week of August might feel too soon after my last one, but now it feels not nearly soon enough.

Here is a picture of another tree down. I saw someone sitting in the bench that I like to sit on early in the morning. I almost wanted to run and shout at them to leave my bench alone, but then I tried to think what a good thing it is that they’re enjoying the same view that I love.
