Day 3,758 —Back on a Trail!—

It is not surprising this wasn’t an easy run. I haven’t done any real trail running in over a month. I have a lot to catch up on before Shawnee Hill.

I saw 3 other runners out this morning, including one guy who started roughly at the same time as me and two runners who I saw when I was close to West Tyson. I am always curious what everyone else’s route is when they go out there. All three ran to the middle of the route and turned around. I ran the low-water route and was surprised at how low the river was. It was higher than it had been in winter, but not close to how high I’d seen it in the past. There was a guy who I saw wandering off in the wrong direction, so I reoriented back to the trail. I was happy to help before I went on my way.

Part of me wondered if maybe he purposely was wandering off, so I wasn’t sure if he was walking towards the path or getting rid of me, so he could continue to wander off. The parking lot was full when I got back, but I saw half the crowd already heading back to their cars. There was a group of 3 that looked like it hadn’t gone on the trail yet, but went straight to their vehicle and were about to leave when I got in my car.
