Day 3,773 —5 runs until Shawnee Hill 100: Shopping—

I went to Emerson Trail, which is a little closer than Lone Elk and close to the river. A lot of people were walking on the trail, but I didn’t see anyone else running, and people were acting like this was a walking-only trail. I've only ran there a few times before.

I told the walkers I was approaching and passing, but they still jumped whenever I passed them. This one guy even shouted out like someone had grabbed him. I had said “approaching” three different times before I passed him, so he might be hard of hearing. Sometimes, even when you try, things don’t go accordingly.

I was thinking about the Shawnee Hill I had watched the video I made last year and was thinking of all the things I need to bring. After running, I went to the local grocery store to buy food for the race. I am normally doing the shopping for the race the day or two before, so it is nice to be slightly more prepared. But all I keep thinking about is the first day of school and how it is going to go. My daughter’s first day is the main one that I am thinking about, but the transportation issue at SLPS is also concerning.

I bought another 10-ounce water bottle and some liquid blister stuff and a new pair of socks. They were 17 bucks, but they feel amazing, and now I want to buy more. Last year, I changed socks at least three times, but I remember feeling that I could keep changing them. It is so much easier to manage blisters when you keep your feet dry.

I also bought a new pair of Goodr! They have so many styles now I got wrapped up looking at a few different kinds, but I settled on a black pair of a style I’ve bought before, but maybe I need another pair of sunglasses before Saturday. I would like a pair that is mostly clear.
