Day 4,394—Full moon and Results from my Pushup Goal for April—
If you look at my picture today, it will look like the sunrise, but it is not the sunrise; it is the moon, which was a shade of orange/red this morning. I knew the picture wouldn’t capture the moon's details, but there is something beautiful about that. I completed 7,515 push-ups in April! That’s an average of a little over 250 pushups a day! I also did 1,801 Leg-lifts! I ran 234 miles, which isn’t bad. I am still on track for my yearly goal of over 3,000 miles, but I was down from my average. The goal for miles is at least 250 per month, so I am happy with this month. At the same time, April is my lowest mileage month of the year so far. I am really happy I was able to run the 32 miles last weekend, and the trail miles I put in during April were key. If I could have done something differently, I might have tried to keep my Monday-Friday average up rather than focusing only on those long runs on the weekend. Still, I had the Greater St. Louis Marathon to run and my son’s birthday, which were out of my control. However, I could have still planned a longer run for after the marathon, but I was also incredibly sick that weekend, so I am mainly just happy I did it.
This May, I plan to run two races. One that is 52 miles and one that is 100 miles, so it shouldn’t be too hard to have a much longer month. I am planning for a push for tomorrow and Sunday, but to slow down next weekend, and then there will be the race the weekend after that, and two weeks from that race, there will be the second race, so I am looking at only one other weekend of more intense training, which is kind of nice. I will put in the miles this weekend, but next weekend I might just try to emphasize the trail miles instead, so I can get ready for that while helping my body recover.
