Day 4,406—2 Runs Until the Berryman 52: It Looks Like Rain—
Start time: 4:33 a.m.
Weather: Mid 60s, 5-6 mi/h wind
I was back at work yesterday, and I ended up having an amazing day. I shouldn’t say amazing amazing because nothing significant happened that was good or bad, but I felt calmer and more content. I went from feeling like everything was coming down all around me to feeling like everything might be coming down, but I was okay with it, and it wasn’t my fault; I just happened to be there at the time.
I think I have been having dreams about different races. This one this weekend should be a nice warm-up for the Mohican. I saw in the weather today that it is supposed to rain in the morning, which should be fine. It might make camping more complicated, but it also might be a good way for me to see how my tent holds up in the rain.
I went to the Webster track this morning and was shocked to find the gate open. I was worried I would be able to use it during the week this summer, but now I am thinking that’s not true. It is easy to get tired of running on the track, but sometimes it is exactly what I need. Those predictable circles with water and a bathroom close. What else do I need? Still, super early in the morning. Why not just run on the road? There aren’t that many cars out, which is one of the main reasons I will go to the track.
