Day 4,417—Ominous Trees: 5 More Runs until the Mohican 100!—
Start time: 9:40 a.m.
Weather: High 60s, wind 3.4 mi/h, Humidity 86%
I feel odd wishing it were hotter, but it's odd to have such nice weather so late in May. I did some chores this morning before I ran, and surprised myself by hitting the low end of the range I'd considered yesterday. I figured I would do at least 8 miles, but realistically, I thought I would run closer to 10. I forgot to stretch yesterday, which made a bigger difference than I would have thought. I used my two 17-ounce flasks today and put my 25-ounce one where the water bladder goes in my vest. This is how I will run the Mohican. I will carry no more than 59 ounces of water at a time. I wonder why 17 ounces ended up being the dominant size for the water flask that goes in the front of my vest. The 25-ounce ones I used yesterday were too much, but I still like having them. I will end up using them for something, even if it is just to have extra water in my cooler for races.
My feet felt so heavy today. Every step was a struggle. I was surprised more people weren’t out at Grant’s Farm or going for walks, but I also couldn’t remember what time it was. I noticed someone was having a graduation party. The clouds still looked dark, but the temperature was ideal, and the wind had mostly died down. I wonder if I should do as few as 3 miles tomorrow. I need to take baths, stretch, and think about what I want to bring for the race. It will be Friday morning, and I will be driving to Ohio before I know it.
