Day 4,422—Tomorrow is the Mohican 100!—

Start time: 4:50 a.m.

Weather: Mid 60s, wind 4.7 mi/h, Humidity 87%

I almost left exactly when the race starts tomorrow, which has been one of my goals this week, so I would get a better idea of how much sun will be out. The weather hasn’t changed a lot since I checked it yesterday. No rain, which is good, and temperatures are projected to be in the 50s to 70s for the days I am running. The wind is a little intense on Saturday, 10-15, but hopefully it isn’t like that most of the day. We should get a lot of coverage with the trees, but it is crazy! I am almost ready to leave, even though my goal was to leave in 8 minutes (6 a.m.). It will be okay as long as I leave sometime in the next hour, but I think I am finally getting noticeably better at packing. Last night I was comparing the map of the race to the camp map, and I should be so close to the start/finish, like maybe less than a quarter of a mile! Which is amazing news, but it would be nice if I didn’t need to worry about having anything at the start/finish. I might just be able to depend on getting anything extra from my campsite, at least when it comes to the two essentials, hiking poles and shoes. Wish me luck! I won't likely post anything until Sunday at the earliest, and I won’t be able to write until Monday.
