Day 4,413—2 more Days with Students! 9 More Runs until the Mohican 100!—

Start time: 4:48 a.m.
Weather: Mid to High 50s, wind 7.2 mi/h, Humidity 83%

It was cold outside when I started this run. The wind was intense, and I wished I had been wearing gloves. Yesterday felt unusually stressful, but today my mind was focused on the Mohican 100 and thoughts about summer. I stopped going to graduations when I was a teacher, so yesterday was the first kind of graduation I attended in a while. The experience still felt isolating, but I pushed those thoughts back to concentrate on reflecting on this year and preparing for next year.

I am glad I didn’t end up signing up for the 100-mile race in Nebraska this weekend. It is just too much to think about in one week. I am already a little overwhelmed thinking I'll need to start packing for the Mohican, but hopefully it won’t be too bad. I know more or less what I need, and I want to buy a few more things, but I have most of what I need minus the food I will bring, and I think I might finally be a little better at packing for these races. I am going to print out the Mohican guidebook today. I assume they have already sent it, and I will find out how many drop bags I need to bring. If I remember correctly, it is 4 loops, each roughly 25 miles. Although you’re basically doing the same loop each time, one is slightly different. I would write more about it, but I have to finish getting ready for work! It is so difficult to focus right now.
