Day 4,408—Tomorrow is the Berryman 50(52): Half Packed!—
Start time: 4:44 a.m.
Weather: Low 60s, 7-8 mi/h wind
I went to the store on the way home yesterday and then to the grocery store with my kids. It is never easy to go to the grocery store with them, and I always end up buying them something we don’t need, but I feel guilty for leaving tonight and being gone all day yesterday, so I have consistently spent time doing something with them every day but Monday this week. Monday, I just felt awful, but I am glad I was able to be productive in some ways.
I was sleepy this morning and went back to sleep for five more minutes, which I rarely do, but I am excited despite everything. This is the last Friday with students for the school year! Next week is going to be crazy, unpredictable, and hectic, but it will also go by fast. Two out of the four days will be completely different, with a field trip and 8th-grade promotion, and the other two days will also be different, just being the last week. Monday will be the last regular school day for all grade levels, with nothing special planned, but that’s only one day.
I can feel myself slipping into complacency, but I have at least one major project I want to work on, and at the same time, I am curious about the shakeup. What will the staff and enrollment look like next year? I got like 3 or 4 meetings today. Well, it is almost time to go, and while I am so ready for the end of this year, I want to embrace it too. Next week is like Friday every day, and the Fridays start today because today is the last Friday with students of the year! I am also so excited to try out all the new camp stuff I bought for this year. I have spent a decent amount of time in hotels while traveling, and I don’t dislike the experience, but I think I prefer a tent, especially when traveling on my own.
