Day 4,429—Officially Done with School for a While! —

Start time: 8:21 a.m.

Weather: Low 70s, wind 6.3 mi/h, Humidity 72%

It was different graduating this time around. I went from initially getting my master’s in English to switching to Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and then settling on School Counseling. Needless to say, I procured way more credit hours than I needed for the degree. When I earned my first Master of Arts in Teaching, it was for 45 credit hours. My second Master of Arts was 57 credit hours towards the degree, plus 9 credit hours towards a Master’s degree in English, for a total of 65 graduate credits over a Master's.

I am just glad it is over for now. I don’t think I am done with school, but I feel good about the progress I have made. I will eventually pursue more schooling. Logically, it makes sense to pursue a Doctorate degree, but what is most appealing right now is finishing my Master's in English. I am happy to see the degree has been awarded. It felt like I was taking classes forever at a certain point. Five years is a long time!

I ran towards the grocery store today, thinking I would buy some celebratory ice cream to make an Oreo vegan milkshake. I was thinking about how behind I am on the race video, but I want to let myself take a break. I am so excited to tell the story of this race! And guarantee I will be done with everything in the next few days, but I also want to let myself take a break.
