Day 4,438— Day II of Running in Rolla!—
It wasn’t raining this morning but it was a little windy and cold. I went over to the downtown area and took a picture of the Rolla Daily News and some of the local shops. It was surprising seeing how many local places were still open. I went back to the park from yesterday and took some pictures of the playground area. It looked like it was completely made from recycled material. I got more familiar with the trails there and was impressed with the variety of terrain in such a short distance.
It was a struggle today because my right arm and shoulder have been so sore. Yesterday at the beach I jumped off the cliff several times and completed the obstacle course at least 5 times. I probably wouldn’t have done it so much but my daughter kept on wanting me to do it again. The obstacle course isn’t that big but there is a section that is slippery, and I took several faceplants while trying to make it to the end. I can only guess that’s the reason I am so sore.
I am just impressed that the beach was open. The whole idea seemed so out of reach after the power went out and we couldn’t even drive to a store to kill some time but in that moment, everything changed and we went to the beach and the sun came out. I give Fugitive Beach 1 million seashells. I also loved that park and trail system. I am sorry I am posting this so late tonight. I feel like I deserve a break from writing after finishing the write-up and the video on Friday.
