Day 4,433—Slow Progress—
Start time: 6:27 a.m.
Weather: Mid 70s, wind 4.3 mi/h, Humidity 92%
I would have thought that it was a little cooler than yesterday and that I started a little later, but neither was true. I didn’t start running until two minutes later than yesterday, and the temperature is almost identical to what it was yesterday. At least no rain today, although I cannot say the rain was unpleasant yesterday, it was mostly just annoying and a reminder that I need to mow my lawn.
I am happy with myself for getting up on time each day this week. I haven’t been super productive so far, but it is only Tuesday, and I did work on my race video and write-up for at least three hours yesterday, if not more. Today I am recording a podcast with a guy I met during the race last week! I listened to one of the episodes yesterday, and I am excited to do it. It is called “weathering the run” and focuses on running in adverse weather conditions. I think I have run 100-mile races in some of the worst and best conditions ever, so it will be fun to explore some of my most memorable experiences. Right now, I am thinking the flash flood and the ice storm during the Shippey were probably among the worst weather I have experienced, but it is weird now. As I sit in my chair and think about it, it doesn’t feel like it was that bad.
Updates for this week!
*I plan to be done with the write-up and the video by Saturday June 13. I will post both together!
*The Nike shoe moved about 10 feet down the hill!
*I saw the couple waiting for the bus again today, so maybe they always wait for the bus together? I will do the same route tomorrow and see if I see them.
*My leg hurts some but less than yesterday.
