Day 4,442—Summer Running and Weathering the Run Podcast—

Start time: 6:31 a.m.

Weather: Low 70s, wind 5.1 mi/h, Humidity 85%

It is another nice day, with the temperature perfect for running. It still feels like spring. The appearance of active swimming pools seems out of place. I successfully read while taking a bath yesterday, but today I have higher aspirations. Today is my last day off this week. Tomorrow is Juneteenth, so I plan to do something fun with my daughter during the day. I like the idea of having a long week, but I am still recovering from my last 100. I don’t have any more of the shin pain that was bothering me before, but I have plenty more aches and pains. There is not a lot of time left before the next 100, just over three weeks! So I feel the pressure to start training for it, but I cannot do too much right before the race and right after the last one, so this week I would like to run at least 80 miles. I should plan to run a marathon distance on Saturday.

I recently recorded an episode for the Weathering the Run podcast that was published today. I haven’t listened to it yet, so I am crossing my fingers that it turned out okay. I listened to some of the episodes of the podcast, and the guy who does it, Andrew, does an amazing job. There are a lot of great athletes on the show, and I love the stories.
