Day 2,704 —a Small, Good Thing— with my PICTURE of KING LOUIS

I still get excited about things like I did when I was a little kid. As a child one of my fixations was with the religious audio program Adventures in Odyssey. Then and now, I loved listening to any type of audio dramatization. My mom bought me pretty much all the seasons over the years. I spent many happy hours walking through the creek behind my house with my Walkman listening to those stories.

Today it was the new book by Joe Abercrombie the Wisdom of Crowds. This is the 10th (and I think final) book in the series. I read the first three maybe a couple of years ago, but this past year I listened and read the other six. I was surprised that I caught up enough, to not have another one to read, but that makes today more important having had the title to look forward to.

I enjoy small things like this to help me escape and feel connected to my past.

As I ran today, I thought about how the Shop ‘N Save closed down. The building sits empty now, yet the parking lot is vast. I did not want to get up this morning, but still there is so much I both want and need to do.
