Day 4,249—Already Mid-December —
I thought I would be more tired, but I decided to go as far as the Loop and then back a similar way. It was strange for me to go almost the same way, but I didn’t want to accidentally go farther, and it was easy to remember. I wore my pants and long-sleeved shirt. I had on gloves but no hat during this run. I might have been wearing a hat for some portion of this run and quickly took it off when I realized it wasn’t that cold. That’s what I was thinking about the most during the start of this run. Sometimes I wear shorts and a t-shirt, but I have to wear gloves and a hat. I can take the hat off if the rest of what I am wearing is long-sleeved. I went down Wydown and connected through Skinker. There were a lot of people out running. I saw some using the drinking water in Forest Park, which I think is crazy that the water is still on, but it was only a few weeks ago when I was there and had some water. I didn’t drink water this entire run. I could have stopped, but I just didn’t feel like stopping and taking the time. It is one of the few positives about running when it is so cold. You just don’t need as much water. I saw the SLUGS are putting on a fun run next Saturday. I am thinking of going. It is 14.5 one way, they said, so you can add some to do a 50K. It is on that trail by Six Flags, so it isn’t one I do a lot. Maybe I should do it? It has to be easier compared to what I did overnight in the snow, and there isn’t nearly as much elevation.
