Day 4,263—Grocery Shopping and Last Night of Hanukkah!—
I slept until after 7, and when I got up, my daughter wanted to watch me play Astrobot and then the Mario racing game. After that, I felt compelled to clean the house and do chores until my wife got up and expressed to me that she needed fruit and broccoli for Felix, so I ran to the grocery store and found vegan blueberry muffins. They also added a walkway that included a concrete barrier. It was the best present I could have asked for, because that walkway had been dangerous for years. I ran it back and forth a few more times as I bought more things from the store. I think I made a total of three trips to the store. Each time, I seemed to consistently buy more stuff than would fit in my pack, so I had to carry it as I ran.
I thought of being more creative in my route, but I ended up liking the simplicity of running back and forth to the store. I found some strawberry rhubarb pie that was vegan, which shocked me. Sarah used to make it for the holiday when we weren’t vegan, so even though it was expensive, I bought it for her, so we could share it. I haven’t had strawberry rhubarb pie for over five years. I wondered how long these vegan baked goods had been here, and I hadn’t noticed them.
I wore the Stryd Pod, and it provided me with my power numbers throughout the run, but I couldn't say I fully understood the metric. Perhaps I need to conduct further research.
I can hardly believe it's Sunday today! I am also so close to my goal of 3,000 miles for the year! Fewer than 40 miles left! Halfway through running, I started making breakfast, which is all I have eaten today, but it was delicious. Sarah spent a lot of today wrapping presents for Hanukkah. The kids were so happy when they opened them. Felix got some Bluey themed cars, and Vivian got some sort of game that involves gems that she loves.
