Day 4,257—First day of Hanukkah—

I wanted to go to bed before 10 p.m., but Sarah convinced me to stay up  later. I set my alarm for a range, which I hadn’t risked doing in a while. Almost every morning recently, I have woken up exactly at 4 a.m. and gotten up. Today, my alarm first started at 3:30 a.m., so I went back to sleep, but I was up at 3:50, which gave me enough extra time to start my run almost exactly at 4:30 a.m.

I ran past the Starbucks and saw someone pull up to the store in what appeared to be an Uber. The man had a jacket with "EMT" written on the back in bold white letters. I wondered if someone had gotten sick at the store, but it wouldn’t make sense for the EMT to show up in an Uber, would it?

It was so cold, but it didn’t bother me that much. I wanted to run somewhere different today, so I headed down Watson and thought about crossing the street to take pictures of the dog salon that had dog-themed holiday decorations. I thought about seeing Star Wars movies around the holiday after that. Specifically, there was the time I stayed up to watch the most recent one on opening weekend. I remember enjoying it, but it might have been more because I didn’t fall asleep. When I got home, my wife was awake, and she said that Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead in their bed yesterday.
