Day 4,254—Going to Sleep Sick—
It is not unusual for me to get sinus pressure when the weather makes dramatic changes from below freezing to a normal fall day, so I wasn’t too worried that I was feeling pressure in my head this week, but last night, my throat was hurting me as well as the added pressure in my face. I wanted cold medicine for this morning, but I didn’t want to go anywhere. I also wanted some tea with agave syrup, but I couldn’t risk waking my son up. He was already having a tough day and wanted me to put him to sleep, but as soon as I started making tea, he woke up.
Sarah went to the drugstore and bought me cold medicine. I didn’t ask her to, but it was nice of her to volunteer. She said she wanted to get out of the house anyway. I didn’t think I would be able to sleep after I took the medicine, but I did. It took me longer than usual, but I barely remember it now. I woke up still feeling bad, and it took all my energy to get dressed and go for this run. I am no longer planning to do a long run on Saturday, for sure. Originally, I wanted to do the SLUG group run, but just thinking about spending all that time outside makes me want to hide underneath my bed and pull over the covers.
